Principal activities of the company

UK CENA, or the United Kingdom Congolese Engineer Network Association, is a group of Congolese engineers from a variety of fields, including electrical engineering, petroleum engi-neering, and mechanical engineering. Our goal is to raise the profile of engineering within the Congolese community in the UK. We also focus on promoting STEM subjects and encourag-ing women to study engineering at higher education. Our Impact UK CENA has benefited the community in a number of ways. We have run workshops and online lessons across the country, including in Birmingham, Coventry, and London. These events have helped to educate young people about engineering and the many opportunities that it offers. We have also worked with schools and colleges to promote STEM subjects and to encourage more girls to study engineering. In addition to our educational work, UK CENA also provides networking opportunities for Con-golese engineers. We host regular events where engineers can meet each other, share ide-as, and learn from each other. We also offer mentoring programs to help young engineers get started in their careers. Our Goals for the Future UK CENA is committed to continuing to raise the profile of engineering in the Congolese community. We believe that engineering is a powerful force for good, and we want to help more Congolese people to pursue careers in this field. In the future, we plan to expand our educational work, reach more young people, and continue to provide networking and mentor-ing opportunities for Congolese engineers.

Consultation with stakeholders

UK-CENA is a community of engineers from different fields who are passionate about seeing the Congolese community, especially women, thrive in careers in science, mathematics, and engineering. In our workshops, we have asked participants for feedback on what they have learned and what they would like to see in future sessions. The findings have suggested that there is a need for a community like UK-CENA to bridge the gap between school, higher education, and the Congolese community. We have encouraged participants to come up with ideas to improve future sessions, such as mock tests with our engineers or CV building sessions. We hope that by doing this, we can positively impact and add value to our community.
