Cybermindz.org CIC was established to advance the mental wellbeing and resilience of individuals working in cybersecurity and closely related digital security roles. These roles are widely recognised as high-pressure and high-risk, characterised by sustained exposure to stress, cognitive overload, critical incident response and constant threat environments. During the reporting period, the company’s primary activities focused on awareness-raising, education and engagement around mental health challenges specific to the cybersecurity profession. This included the development and delivery of educational content, workshops, talks and events designed to help individuals and organisations better understand stress, burnout and psychological risk within cyber teams. The company also engaged with industry partners, government stakeholders and private sector organisations to promote a more informed and supportive approach to mental wellbeing in cybersecurity environments. Activities were designed to complement, rather than replace, existing organisational wellbeing initiatives, with a focus on prevention, resilience and early intervention. Any income generated by the company was applied exclusively to furthering these community benefit objectives. No dividends were paid, and no director remuneration was provided. Resources were reinvested into the development of educational materials, outreach activities and events aimed at increasing understanding of mental health risks in cybersecurity and encouraging healthier, more sustainable working practices. The impact of the company’s activities during the period was primarily evidenced through increased awareness and engagement among cybersecurity professionals and organisations, improved dialogue around mental wellbeing in cyber roles and the strengthening of networks committed to supporting the long-term sustainability of the cyber workforce. Cybermindz.org CIC continues to operate with the intention of delivering ongoing public benefit by supporting the mental wellbeing of those working to protect digital infrastructure and systems, recognising that resilient people are essential to resilient cybersecurity.
The company’s primary stakeholders during the reporting period were: Cybersecurity professionals and practitioners participating in or engaging with Cybermindz.org CIC’s mental resilience awareness activities Industry partners and sponsoring organisations within the cybersecurity sector. Event attendees at conferences, workshops and briefings where Cybermindz.org CIC presented Collaborating organisations and advisors supporting the company’s community interest objectives. Consultation Activities Stakeholder consultation during the period was conducted primarily through informal and ongoing engagement, including: Direct conversations with cybersecurity professionals during workshops, briefings and awareness-raising sessions Information sharing events delivered online to our community by means of free webinars Feedback received through post-event discussions, informal surveys and one-to-one conversations Engagement with industry partners and sponsors regarding observed stressors, burnout risks and support needs within cybersecurity teams Ongoing dialogue with collaborators and advisors involved in the development of mental resilience resources and events The company did not conduct a formal, large-scale stakeholder consultation exercise during the reporting period. Actions Taken in Response to Feedback Feedback gathered through these engagements informed the company’s activities in the following ways: Refinement of awareness-raising content to better reflect the lived experience and pressures faced by cybersecurity professionals Increased emphasis on normalising conversations about mental health and reducing stigma within cyber teams Shaping the focus and structure of events and materials to ensure relevance, accessibility and practical value to participants Reinforcing the company’s decision to reinvest all profits into further community benefit activities rather than distributing dividends, which in any event is prohibited by our Constitution. Cybermindz.org CIC views stakeholder consultation as an ongoing process and intends to continue developing more structured consultation mechanisms as its activities and reach expand.
