The company is entitled to exemption from audit under Section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 for the year ended 31 March 2025.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit of its financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2025 in accordance with Section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for:

(a)	ensuring that the company keeps accounting records which comply with Sections 386 and 387 of the Companies Act 2006 and

(b)

preparing financial statements which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company as at the end of each financial year and of its surplus or deficit for each financial year in accordance with the requirements of Sections 394 and 395 and which otherwise comply with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 relating to financial statements, so far as applicable to the company.

The financial statements have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

In accordance with Section 444 of the Companies Act 2006, the Income Statement has not been delivered.

The financial statements were approved by the Board of Directors and authorised for issue on 12 December 2025 and were signed on its behalf by:

1.	STATUTORY INFORMATION

Francis Forbes Barton Restoration and Preservation Society Ltd is a private company, limited by guarantee , registered in England and Wales. The company's registered number and registered office address can be found on the Company Information page.

2.	ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Basis of preparing the financial statements

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" including the provisions of Section 1A "Small Entities" and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

Turnover

Turnover comprises donations.

Heritage assets

A heritage asset is defined under FRS102 as one with historic, artistic, scientific, technological, geophysical, or environmental qualities that are held and maintained principally for their contribution to knowledge and

culture.

The company owns the former lifeboat known as the Francis Forbes Barton, which was donated to the company and the company's intent is to restore and preserve it. In the director's opinion it meets the FRS102 definition of a Heritage Asset and therefore the boat has been captilaised as Heritage Asset accordingly.

In the directors opinion the net residual value of the Boat is the same as cost therefore a depreciation policy of 0% has been applied.

Taxation

The company is a registered charity and is not required to pay Corporation Tax. As such there is no tax liability recognised

Donations

Goods and assets donated to the company are recognised at fair value as income.

The asset held is the ex RNLI lifeboat The Francis Forbes Barton which was donated ot the company, It has been valued by the directors at fair value.

The following reproduces the text of the report prepared for the directors in respect of the company's annual unaudited financial statements. In accordance with the Companies Act 2006, the company is only required to file a Balance Sheet. Readers are cautioned that the Income Statement and certain other primary statements and the Report of the Directors are not required to be filed with the Registrar of Companies.

In order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Companies Act 2006, we have prepared for your approval the financial statements of Francis Forbes Barton Restoration and Preservation Society Ltd for the year ended 31 March 2025 which comprise the Income Statement, Balance Sheet and the related notes from the company's accounting records and from information and explanations you have given us.

Our work has been undertaken solely to prepare for your approval the financial statements of Francis Forbes Barton Restoration and Preservation Society Ltd and state those matters that we have agreed to state to the Board of Directors of Francis Forbes Barton Restoration and Preservation Society Ltd, as a body, in this report in accordance with ICAEW Technical Release 07/16AAF.
