COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

HOPE DAY NURSERY C.I.C.

Company Number: 12211328 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 March 2025

Company activities and impact

The company runs a Children's Day Nursery, which provides childcare for the local community on an all-year basis, as opposed to term time only and in this regard only closes for the Christmas holidays. The company has benefitted the community in the following ways: 1. The company employs 25 staff members on various contracts of employment from the local community. 2. The nursery setting is registered with the Care Inspectorate for Wales to look after up to 49 children per day, and we have approximately 80 children per week visiting the nursery on either a full or part-time basis. 3. The nursery has contracts of service with the local and national government to deliver several child nursery funded schemes, including the Flying Start, 3+ and Child Care Offer schemes, making the nursery accessible to children of all backgrounds from the locality. 4. The nursery also works with local schools and colleges to provide work experience places for those considering a career in childcare and runs an apprenticeship program, in partnership with local and national training providers. 5. The nursery is part of a buddy system where we work with another local nursery to share ideas of best practice.

Consultation with stakeholders

Stakeholders of Hope Day Nursery CIC include the following: 1. Hope Church (Newtown) - as the parent company, consultations include matters relating to financial management, culture and the general well-being of the staff and children. 2. Parents of children - consultations both informally and formally, the main way being how the parents contribute to the annual quality report, where parents are actively engaged to obtain feedback on the service being received, which is then reported on and to the local and national schemes and oversight. 3. CIW & Estyn - the nursery receives regular visits and both planned and unplanned inspections from the Care Inspectorate for Wales and Estyn. Feedback from these meetings/inspections is then fed into any nursery development programmes.
