During the year ending 31 March 2025, LELS Counselling CIC continued to operate with care, intention, and realism within a challenging financial environment. The organisation remained focused on delivering high quality therapeutic services through a paid service model, recognising that long term sustainability depends on financial viability alongside social purpose. Throughout the reporting period, the company did not provide free or subsidised counselling services. All activity was delivered on a fee paying basis, with income generated solely through paid therapeutic work. This approach reflects a conscious and necessary decision to protect the integrity of the service, the wellbeing of the practitioner, and the future of the organisation. The work undertaken during the year centred on offering professional, ethical counselling support to adults seeking psychological help. Clients engaged with the service around themes including anxiety, depression, grief, identity, trauma, and relational difficulties. The therapeutic space continued to be grounded in compassion, professionalism, and respect, allowing clients to explore their experiences with dignity and care. While the company’s social reach was narrower than in previous years due to the absence of free provision, the impact on those who accessed the service remained meaningful. Paid sessions enabled individuals to receive consistent and focused support, contributing to improved emotional awareness, coping strategies, and personal resilience. The decision to operate solely through paid services also supported organisational stability. It reduced financial strain, prevented further personal subsidisation by the director, and created a clearer foundation from which future community focused work may one day grow again, should circumstances allow. Looking ahead, LELS Counselling CIC continues to hold its community interest purpose at heart. The organisation remains open to future opportunities that could broaden access, including partnerships or funding that align with sustainable practice. For now, the emphasis remains on steady, ethical service delivery, ensuring that the work offered is both responsible and enduring. In a landscape where demand for mental health support continues to rise, this year has been about consolidation rather than expansion. It has been about choosing sustainability, clarity, and care, trusting that these foundations keep the door open for future possibilities.
