Activities: Sports-Based Youth Engagement: Delivering regular football and multi-sports sessions to engage young people, encouraging healthy lifestyles, teamwork, discipline, and self-esteem. Education and Mentorship: Running workshops, mentoring schemes, and personal development programmes focused on life skills, employability, mental health awareness, and leadership. Community Events and Tournaments: Organising inclusive sporting events that bring together diverse community members to foster unity, celebrate talent, and build local pride. Targeted Support Programmes: Working with vulnerable groups including at-risk youth, individuals with disabilities, and those experiencing social or economic disadvantage to provide tailored support through sport and allied services. Impact: Improved Physical and Mental Wellbeing: Helping participants lead healthier lives by promoting regular physical activity and offering mental health support through trained staff and partnerships. Reduced Anti-Social Behaviour: Engaging youth in structured, positive activities reduces involvement in crime or disruptive behaviour. Increased Opportunities: Providing pathways to training, volunteering, and employment, especially for NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) individuals. Stronger, More Connected Communities: Creating safe, inclusive spaces where people from diverse backgrounds feel welcome and valued.
Stakeholders of More Than Just a Game CIC include: Young people and participants engaged in our sports and mentoring programmes. Parents, carers, and families of participants. Local schools, youth services, and referral agencies. Community organisations and partner charities. Volunteers and staff members. Local authorities, funders, and commissioners. How stakeholders have been consulted: Young people have been consulted through regular feedback forms, informal group discussions after sessions, and end-of-programme surveys. Parents and carers have been engaged via feedback forms, follow-up calls, and during community events where they can provide input. Schools and youth service partners have contributed feedback through partnership meetings and ongoing collaborative planning sessions. Staff and volunteers are consulted through regular team meetings, reflective debriefs, and one-on-one support sessions. Funders and commissioners have been consulted through reporting processes, outcome reviews, and meetings to discuss future programme design.
