During the year a variety of free and low-cost, high-quality tennis programmes across estates, schools, parks and public venues in Hackney, Haringey, and Islington were delivered. Annual highlights: -Successful delivery of parks tennis programmes at Rosemary Gardens, Finsbury Park, Priory Park, Downhills Park, Down Lane, Chapmans Green, Chestnuts Park and Stationers Park. -Free of charge community tennis sessions were held across a variety of housing estate and community spaces, including amongst others the Guinness Trust estate, the Eritrean Youth Club, Andover estate, and Kings Square estate. -In partnership with the Access to Sprots Project the CIC also delivered parks tennis programmes across seven park venues in Haringey. -Free of charge tennis holiday camps, offered in school holidays, in various locations, successfully introduced large numbers of children to tennis.

Consultation with stakeholders

The CIC’s stakeholders are local young people and adults, local community groups and schools, tennis coaches and volunteers. Alongside this the CIC works with its’ key stakeholders, The Access to Sports Project, the Lawn Tennis Association, and Tennis Foundation and local authorities, most notably Haringey and Islington councils to shape and deliver services to the community. We consulted widely with our stakeholders. Young people and adults joining our programmes were asked to complete short questionnaires or through verbal feedback. We worked with charity The Access to Sports Project, local authorities and the Lawn tennis association as well as community partners to help us identify needs and shape our services. We used participation data, evidence of local needs, and evaluation of local community tennis provision, to help shape our services. Consultation has enabled the CIC to develop a wide reaching programme of park and community-based Tennis activities, which are relevant to local need and demand. This in turn has underpinned the very successful delivery achieved by the CIC during this period.
