Taste Causeway CIC is a collaborative network of small businesses and social enterprises set up to develop the local food and drink supply chain in the Causeway Coast and Glens. It provides network opportunities, business and marketing support for the members including training, advice and access to relevant agencies and government departments. In the last year Taste Causeway CIC has continued to support businesses and the local community by organizing digital marketing campaigns to showcase and promote the local food and drink supply chain to the local community with information on where to buy and to to support local. We have helped members collaborate with each other bringing new products, services and experiences to the local community. Out activities and partnerships have helped drive inward investment into our local area. This has helped create jobs and improve the local economy that includes areas of deprivation.
Consultation and engagement is an integral part of our work. Consultation occurs daily through our digital network WhatsApp channels, an online members portal and one-to-one meetings with members. There are periodic formal consultations such as an online survey of all businesses to assess business needs. Each member completes an annual business needs analysis survey and a consultation and feedback survey are carried out after each training event / webinar / development programme. The feedback is collated and used to shape the development and marketing activities and business support and to assign budgets and spend priorities for the Taste Causeway CIC itself and to lobby for additional support from the key public sector agencies and local and NI government departments.
