The presentational currency of the financial statements is the Pound Sterling (£).
| 2. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
Basis of preparing the financial statements
Turnover
Turnover represents the fair value of consideration received or receivable net of VAT and trade discounts.
Revenue from the sale of services is recognised at the point of supply as contract activity progresses. Revenue not billed is included in debtors and payments on account in excess of the relevant amount of revenue are included in creditors.
Tangible fixed assets
Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation and accumulated impairment losses. Cost includes costs directly attributable to making the asset capable of operating as intended by management.
Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful economic life.
| Plant & machinery | - | 25% on cost |
| Fixtures & fittings | - | 25% on cost |
| Motor vehicles | - | 25% on cost |
| Computer equipment | - | 25% on cost |
Impairment
At each balance sheet date, the company reviews the carrying amount of its assets to determine whether there is any indication that any items have suffered an impairment loss. If any such indication exists, the recoverable amount of an asset is estimated in order to determine the extent of the impairment loss, if any.
Financial instruments
Financial liabilities, assets and equity instruments are classified according to the substance of the contractual arrangements entered into. An equity instrument is any contract that evidences a residual interest in the assets of the entity after deducting all of its financial liabilities.
Taxation
Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity.
Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted.
Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date.

Deferred tax
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date.
Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference.
Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits.
Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits
The company operates a defined contribution pension plan for its employees. A defined contribution pension plan is a pension plan under which the company pays contributions into a separate entity. Once the contributions have been paid, the company has no further obligations.
The contributions are recognised as an expense in the income statement when they fall due. Amounts owed but not paid are shown in accruals as a liability in the Statement of financial position. The assets of the plan are held separately from the Company in independently administered funds.
Government assistance
Included in bank loans is a bounce back loan which is guaranteed by the government. As part of the bounce back loan scheme the government is paying the first year of interest on the loan.
