Going concern
The trading assets of the company were sold in January 2023 and the company has since ceased trading. There are no non-current assets or liabilities on the balance sheet. The company still has support of the parent company A W Smith & Sons Limited whilst the directors look to liquidate the company. The balance sheet at 31st March, 2025 is an insolvent balance totalling £965,962 compared to £964,842 in 2024. Included in the companys liabilities is a balance of £12,474 (2024 - £26,667), owed to the bank and £744,723 (2024 - £653,387) owed to the parent company. The loan from the parent company has no formal repayment terms, but these funds will not be withdrawn at short notice and the parent company has provided confirmation to this effect. The financial statements therefore do not include any adjustment that would result from a failure to obtain continued support and funding from the bank and the parent company.
