OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives and aims
The Charity is a public benefit entity. The objects of the Charity are such exclusively charitable purposes as the Trustees in their absolute discretion shall from time to time determine in order to further the charity's purposes for public benefit. Such broad objects allow the charity to support a wide range of local community improvement projects, currently and in the future.
The trustees have given due regard to the Charity Commission guidance on public benefit.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Achievement and Performance
The time has arrived again where I look back on the past year pointing out the highlights and recognising the challenges. October is usually a quiet month as we put plans in place for a very significant event that the Trust takes the lead on, the annual Remembrance parade which is attended by the Mayor of Wirral, local MP, councillors, uniformed organizations, members of the village club - past and present, the school and the local community. Once again the parade was led by members of the Port Sunlight Lyceum Brass Band and we were very fortunate that Sgt Francis agreed to be our flag bearer. The event was very well attended by members of the community which is always refreshing. Revd Barrett led the outdoor service with the remainder of the service taking place within All Saints' Church followed by refreshments served by the uniformed organizations in the Parish Hall.
Following last year's AGM on the 20th November we moved straight into Christmas mode, once again getting the trees sponsored on the Green and around the village, selling the 18th tree on the 27th November. Last year we spent a considerable amount on the trunk wraps and for 2024 we enhanced the tree wraps spreading them further up into the branches and adding new festoons to the trees at the corner of Radley Drive. Once again we want to record our thanks to all the sponsors and individuals who donated to help light up the village for Christmas. The end of the year was quite an exciting time in the village with the filming of the spoof drama Fackham Hall - mildly chaotic scenes around and about but an opportunity to celebrity spot! Last year's display was really festive and with the addition of the postbox topper in Radley Drive the village looked great.
The Christmas Evening event took place on the 29th November in the WI Hall, as ever enjoyed by all, a super evening of carols with music from the Port Sunlight Lyceum Band accompanied by the traditional mulled wine and mince pies.
Into the new year our ongoing battle with the council to permanently reopen our toilet block on the green continued with a attendance at the Tourism, Communities, Culture and Leisure Committee at the council to answer questions and put our case forward, representatives attended 2 council meetings with several follow up meetings with councillors and residents attending a meeting on site to help emphasise the need for the facility. This was all positively received by councillors. Following the meetings council officers were asked to put together costs involved, these have only just come to light and are currently being reviewed.
The plight of St Georges' Church also continued through the year, Dr Patterson attended our February meeting answering questions and explaining the plans, this is still no further forward but we are trying to help move the process along, in the mean time the former church looks sad and is falling further into disrepair. We are pressing for swift action.
Some good news in February, although slightly out of our area, was the start of the installation of traffic lights at the junction of Upper Raby Road and Raby Park Road, this work was as a result of decades of campaigning by Pauline Fielding finally coming to fruition.
The whole nation commemorated VE Day on 8th May such a poignant occasion honouring the sacrifice made by so many eighty years ago.
Our own campaign to improve road safety started to see the process of speed limit reductions throughout the village being implemented, the actual work being done in late summer. Many months of negotiations and meetings, offering suggestions and persuasive arguments resulted in WBC agreeing to reduce the speed limit from 50mph to 40mph for the full length of the B5136 including liaising with our neighbouring council CW&C. WBC also undertook a junction improvement scheme at the Rocklands Lane junction adding kerbing and new marker posts.
A number of litter picks have taken place during the year under the initiative "Love where you live" this is a great exercise bringing locals together to help tidy our area. Revd Barrett coordinates the litter picks.
During the course of the year Community Speed Watch has been in action at least once each week, on each occasion that the group has operated they have "clocked" a significant number of drivers breaking the speed limit, however with regularity and diligence we hope that the message is getting across to drivers who pass through the village. We further hope that with new speed limits in the village drivers will pay heed and that overall speeding will see a reduction. Sincere thanks to the dedicated of team of volunteers who undertake this initiative. Articulated vehicles still pass through the village but the Trust has actively engaged with companies to try and reduce the numbers and are further liaising with the council on this issue.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Fundraising activities
The Wirral Egg Run took place on 30th March, our usual sales of refreshments and breakfast butties went down well - we sold out before the bikes started to arrive! It was a gloriously sunny day.
On July 20th we saw the annual Wirral Classic Car Club Rally who this year were celebrating their 25th anniversary, we served our usual refreshments of cakes, strawberry scones and drinks but this year as the cars were gathering on the Green in time for lunch new we added our barbecue - this was professional operated by the chef and staff from Thornton Hall Hotel who volunteered for the day. It was an amazingly successful day raising almost £1,000 for the Christmas Lights appeal, again it was a sell out.
As the summer progressed into Autumn the whole annual cycle began again with the launch of the Christmas Lights appeal and the selling of trees to sponsors.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial position
The fundraising activity has been modest in the past few years, although it continues to fund a few grant requests and maintains our objective of enhancing the village for all to enjoy. For the year ended 30 September 2025 there was a excess of expenditure over income for the year of £391 (2024 - (£1,801) ). As at 30 September 2025 there were total retained funds of £14,712 (2024 - £15,103).
Reserves policy
The Trustees have an agreed reserve policy of £5,000.
Going concern
There are no material uncertainties about the charity's ability to continue.
FUTURE PLANS
The trust will continue to be a vehicle for residents to turn to when they need assistance, whether that be in an advisory capacity or to draw together parties concerned with the issue at hand.
As the only community group in the Clatterbridge Ward the Trust is well positioned to lobby our local councillors who regularly attend Trust meetings questioning them on issues and asking for their support.
The Trust will continue to actively encourage new members and to carry on working to enhance our beautiful parish assisting both members and non-members when they most need it.
