Balance sheet statements

Company activities and impact

During the reporting period, the company delivered a programme of outdoor learning, creative practice, wellbeing and community engagement activities for babies, early years, teenagers and adults. The company’s activities focus on nature-based education, creative play, horticulture, green therapies and socially engaged practice, with an emphasis on inclusion, environmental awareness and community cohesion. The company continued to operate a fully outdoor Nature Kindergarten, supporting early years development through play-based, nature-led learning. A maintained wellbeing garden provided a base for nature-focused workshops for adults and children, supporting physical activity, mental health and social connection. The company worked in partnership with local authorities and other organisations to deliver large-scale public engagement events, festivals and installation artworks, contributing to community cohesion and increased access to cultural activity. Teenage programmes supported autonomy, resilience and wellbeing, both locally and across the wider Bradford District. Weekly sessions were delivered for adults with SEND, supporting wellbeing, confidence and self-esteem through connection to nature and community. The company also delivered horticultural mentoring, supporting community gardens, skills development and a volunteer programme, promoting sustainability and shared ownership. Creative engagement activities were delivered for museums and galleries, supporting families, early years engagement and adult participation. Additional activities included foraging walks, Death Cafes supporting wellbeing around death and grief, and collaborative engagement projects using sustainable materials. Overall, the company’s activities contributed to improved wellbeing, stronger social connections, increased environmental awareness and a more inclusive and resilient community.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders include children and families, young people, adults (including adults with SEND), volunteers, artists and creative practitioners, local residents, community groups, partner organisations, local authorities, museums, galleries and funders. Stakeholder consultation took place through ongoing engagement during activities and workshops, community consultation linked to projects, volunteer meetings, group facilitation sessions and feedback gathered at events and festivals. The company also consulted stakeholders through partnership working with local authorities and cultural organisations. Feedback informed the continuation and development of inclusive outdoor learning, SEND provision, teenage wellbeing projects, community growing initiatives, volunteering opportunities and the use of sustainable materials. Public engagement events and wellbeing-focused activities were expanded in response to community need.
