The Company uses football as a too, to involve vulnerable members of the local community to engage. In the financial year it continued to deliver a weekly football project for the elderly with refreshments provided after each session to encourage players to mix with each other and reduce isolation. This project has run since 2016. New friendships have been made and the group is open to both Males and, Females. Participants our evenings as an opportunity to socialise. We delivered a number of fundraising events with former Liverpool and Everton players. The latest in memory of one of our biggest supporters who recently passed with cancer which raised £3353.95 for Clatterbridge Cancer Society. We delivered two Holiday Activity Fund projects supporting children on free school meals and, their families and, raised funds to provide them with a Christmas Hamper each. We also delivered a Futsal project giving local youngsters a safe place to play being supported by FA qualified coaches who have been DBS checked and, have experience in safeguarding.
We have consulted with residents, the stakeholders, in areas like Birkenhead, New and Rock Ferry who have completed HAF surveys and feedback confirming the need for our project. In addition the Wirral Chamber of Commerce supported us with advise, training an charitable donations. We also have the support of local councillors.
