STEAM Collaboration CIC (t/a STEAM Co.) believes we must help our children dream, aim high and find their passion, their art. We’re on a mission to inspire a million kids to aim higher than high in life, powered by their creativity and our communities. We help connect our kids with their art and our communities with their schools by running creativity days. We see art as the combination of creativity, technology and people. Their art could be painting or photography, dance or DJing, cooking or coding, robots or rockets. We campaign, inspire and action art to inspire their education, create careers and connect communities. The period 2024-25 saw us build on our #SteamPower24 year using our past to inspire all our futures, which underpinned #Railway25 year as part of the national celebration of 200 years of the Railways. This saw us: Launch the world’s smallest model railway exhibition at Lands End Start to co-create the world’s biggest model railway at Trevithick Day in Cornwall Run railway themed days in schools Encourage people to donate old, unwanted model railways to schools A film we made of this activity with the BBC is available to view here: bit.ly/SCORWY25film We delivered creativity talks and days in schools communities across the UK funded both from school funds., as well as parental/carer and donations for our activities at fetes and festivals from The Great Estate Festival in Cornwall to Glastonbury Festival where we were given free pitches. Our work has benefitted the community by inspiring children to aim high in life, raising aspiration, promoting creativity and home/community engagement with schools. 100% of head teachers we work with say they would recommend us to other schools. Once again 2024-25 was a particularly tough trading year in terms of income from both donations and schools paying for our work with their budgets under severe pressure. In January 2025 we invested £4k in a paper mailing/with email follow up to all 15k UK primary schools and received just 18 responses that converted to 6 bookings. Yet our work has never been needed more by our children, our communities and our country so we are as determined as ever.
Our stakeholders are whole school communities – leaders, teachers, parents, carers and local/national businesses and we have testimonials from all of these as we make films after most of our events and activities. See this film of one of our Railway days in a school in Dorchester: bit.ly/SCORWY25powfs Ongoing surveys in schools we work with show 100% of responding head teachers said they would recommend us to other schools.
Beyond the sole director’s PAYE as disclosed in the accounts, there were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
