| Basis of preparing the financial statements |
| Turnover |
| Turnover represents net invoiced sales of good/services, excluding value added tax, except in respect of service contracts where turnover is recognised when the company obtains the right to consideration. |
| Goodwill |
| Goodwill, being the amount paid in connection with the acquisition of the business, is being amortised evenly from 1 April 2015 over 10 years. |
| Intangible assets |
| Intangible assets are initially measured at cost. After initial recognition, intangible assets are measured at cost less any accumulated amortisation and any accumulated impairment losses. |

| The LLP operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the LLP's pension scheme are charged to profit or loss in the period to which they relate. |
| Members' remuneration |
| The LLP agreement provides that fixed amounts, determined for each member each year, be paid to members, irrespective of the profits of the LLP. These amounts are included within members' remuneration charged to the profit and loss account. |
| A members' share of the profit or loss for the year is accounted for as an allocation of profits. Unallocated profits and losses are included within 'other reserves'. |
| Financial instruments |
| Financial instruments are classified and accounted for, according to the substance of the contractual arrangement, as financial assets, financial liabilities or equity instruments. An equity instrument is any contract that evidences a residual interest in the assets of the LLP after deducting all of its liabilities. |
