Borrow Don't Buy runs Plymouth's Library of Things, a place where you can borrow items that you need to use, but might not need to own. A Library of Things helps to bring people together and encourages everyone to rebuild that sense of sharing. We have a diverse inventory with items from camping equipment to power tools, cooking gadgets and craft equipment. We want to help our members save money, reduce clutter and reduce our carbon footprint while strengthening our community. Most importantly, by sharing more items within our community we increase our resilience and well being. Our mission is for everyone to have access to the things they need, without it costing the earth. We have helped save the people of Plymouth tens of thousands of pounds and have refurbished and given away almost 1000 laptops/phones and tablets to give internet access to those who do not have it. We have partnered with the Rank Foundation, the Good Things Foundation, Open Doors Learning Foundation, the Digital Inclusion Network and the NHS (Derriford Hospital) to increase the good work we can do. We have also recently become a Real Living Wage Employer.
