In the space provided below, please insert a general account of the company’s activities in the financial year to which the report relates, including a description of how they have benefited the community. The NWCSC CIC, based in the North West of England, was established in January 2021 to encourage innovation in Cyber Security, offer networking opportunities to local cyber security SME and large companies and to educate normal business about their cyber security opportunities. The third year of operations was focused on the need to improve the profile of the cluster, and developments have been made with the cluster now an established part of the wider cyber security ecosystem in the North west and the UK as a whole. In the fourth year events have continued to be held across the 4 main spokes (Lancashire / Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region and the newly established Cheshire spoke). We have established local network collections and continue to encourage collaboration andextend relationships between local companies, universities (and educational establishments) public sector organisations. By bringing together all members, including expert representatives of central government departments, cyber cluster members are getting their opportunities to understand the opening and prospects available to them. Events held have been attended by cyber security ecosystem suppliers who are able to help members develop, innovate, gain funding, expand and recruit new systems. The Cluster has shared news and opportunities for its members to: Attend UK support cyber security international trade missions and shows to increase their opportunities to create demand for or sell their products; participate in feedback opportunities to local and central government, to encourage developments and innovation in the cyber security products and services; Educate business from all sectors to improve their cyber security posture, helping to move towards making the UK a safer place to do business. Representing the North West of England, we regularly collaborate with other cyber security clusters across the UK through UKC3 organised events. Through attendance at conferences and shows, we promote the cluster to non-members to expand the networking opportunities and bring together companies within the Cyber security industry and the supporting ecosystem.
The company’s main stakeholders are its members. All events, news and information sharing is aimed at improving the knowledge of Cyber security organisations within the industry and supporting eco system. Feedback opportunities are available for all cluster members to discuss the various projects and investment opportunities available. Funding is currently received from UKC3, an organisation responsible for coordinating the activities of the clusters that are spread throughout the UK. Regular reporting of activities takes place to evidence the distribution of the funds and the benefits to the region and the cluster members.
