The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 March 2025

Principal activities of the company

The company is limited by guarantee. It was formed with the object of improving the quality of life for the inhabitants of Llanidloes and the surrounding area through the provision of opportunities in partnership with others. Further research on future heritage projects was undertaken during the year relating to the history of the public houses of the town and the rich Chartist History of the area, as well as the potential to publish further volumes on the history of the area in the Great War. Contact has been made and initial discussions had with other heritage groups and attractions in the town concerning new tourism initiatives based on interpreting the heritage offer of the area - be this the history of the local pubs or the weaving heritage - strongly linked to the Chartist movement in the town. During the period, the company also facilitated the arrangements for Llanidloes Twinning Association in its ongoing relationship with its Twin Town in Derval - in the Loire Atlantique Region of France. This was basically the provision of administrative support in the arrangement of the twinning visit in August 2024 - primarily through the provision of an online banking facility for the Association. The company continues to hold funds for the Association in anticipation of the return visit of the Derval Twinning Association in 2026, with funding being raised from general fund raising activities that contribute to the social calendar of events in the Llanidloes area. The 'Games for Wellbeing' project remains on hold but will be either resumed or the restricted funds for this project transferred to other projects related to social health and wellbeing in future years.
