Community Benefit and Activities During the reporting period, the Company’s activities were carried out primarily for the benefit of refugees, displaced communities, and the wider public, including UK residents. The Company’s overarching purpose was to advance social welfare by addressing inadequate housing provision and promoting the adaptive reuse of abandoned and underused buildings in the UK and abroad for humanitarian and community use. The Company sought to raise awareness of the availability of vacant and derelict properties and to demonstrate their potential conversion into safe, suitable, and sustainable accommodation for refugees and people experiencing homelessness. In pursuit of its community interest objectives, the Company undertook the following activities: Provided construction, refurbishment, and renovation services for abandoned and underutilised buildings, ensuring that resulting accommodation was fit for purpose and suitable for occupation by refugees and individuals experiencing homelessness. Delivered consultancy and advisory services, either free of charge or at reduced cost, to individuals, community groups, and organisations preparing accommodation for refugee hosting, with the aim of ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and habitability standards. Offered guidance, mentoring, and training opportunities to refugees seeking employment or self-employment within the construction sector, supporting skills development, economic participation, and social integration. Promoted public awareness of the challenges faced by refugees in accessing safe and adequate housing, including the structural, regulatory, and practical barriers encountered by refugees and their sponsors. The Directors consider that these activities have been carried out in accordance with the Company’s community interest purpose and have provided tangible benefit to the community.
