Supporting Digital Inclusion and Community Capacity Building During the most recent financial year, JargNon CIC continued to work towards its community purpose of improving digital access, confidence, and capability within local community organisations and groups. While the volume of direct client work was lower than in previous years, the company remained active in supporting community digital needs and in planning how its services can better respond to emerging challenges faced by small organisations and individuals. Key activities during the year included: Ongoing digital support for community organisations, including advice on website maintenance, online presence, and the effective use of digital tools. Ad hoc guidance and troubleshooting for community members and small groups requiring practical ICT assistance. Maintaining existing community partnerships, ensuring that organisations previously supported could continue to benefit from stable and accessible digital platforms. Strategic planning and service development, with time dedicated to reviewing past impact, identifying gaps in digital support locally, and exploring improved ways to deliver inclusive, affordable, and accessible digital services in future years. These activities contributed to strengthening the digital resilience of local groups and supported continued community engagement, particularly for organisations with limited financial or technical resources.
JargNon CIC’s primary stakeholders are local community organisations, voluntary groups, community centres, and individuals who experience barriers to accessing or using digital services. Consultation during the year took place through: Informal discussions with existing and past community clients Ongoing conversations with local groups and partners Direct feedback received during support sessions and advisory work Feedback highlighted continued challenges around digital confidence, maintaining online services with limited resources, and keeping up with changes in digital platforms. In response, the company: Reviewed how its services could be delivered more flexibly and sustainably Considered new approaches to community support and engagement Used stakeholder feedback to inform future planning and priorities This consultation process continues to guide the company’s development and ensures its activities remain aligned with genuine community needs.
