Sweetshop Revolution CIC is committed to creating innovative dance and theatre projects that foster community engagement and social connection. This report covers activities undertaken during 2024–2025, including artistic work, funding efforts, and community outreach. Following full-length shows produced in 2022 and 2023, this year was mainly spent utilising an Organisational Development grant received from Arts Council England. We collaborated with Night Time Economy Solutions to fundraising for projects which included an extended SEN version of the show ‘I am 8’ with Taking Flight Theatre Company, and Arts & Health workshops with National Botanical Garden of Wales. Sadly these applications were unsuccessful. We were successful with a National Lottery Community Fund grant to enable 80 workshops in Wales, including intergenerational sessions with Guides and Scouts. A Sussex Community Foundation grant (£4,000) for care home workshops in Sussex starting November 2024. Workshops featured two leaders per session for dementia support, with attendance ranging from 12 to 35 participants. In the current year we aim to resubmit grant funding applications for children’s work in 2026. Re-focus on England-based projects and explore sustainable partnerships for care home and community engagement.
Throughout programme delivery we consult with stakeholders. We received 100% positivity in our feedback - from all the care homes; in Cardiff, Newport, Swansea and all over South Wales. We agreed a recommendation to build local community links with care homes to reduce isolation among residents.
Sally Marie, Director of Sweetshop Revolution, received total payments of £ 31119 For professional dance services provided to the Company.
