FAITH IN LATER LIFE LTD (REGISTERED NUMBER: 12160439)
REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025
The trustees who are also directors of the charity for the purposes of the Companies Act 2006, present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2025. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019).
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives and aims
The objects and aims of the charity are:
to advance the Christian faith by inspiring and equipping Christians and churches to serve and equip older people in their Christian service, and
to engage effectively with older people in communities everywhere, and to bring older people into Christian faith and community, for the public benefit.
Significant activities
During the year to 31 March 2025 the following were our significant activities -
We supported over one thousand 'Church Champions' (seniors workers) who are regularly engaging with around 50,000 older people. Some are seeing older people come to faith, whilst almost all are encouraged by decreased loneliness, strengthening faith and increased church engagement, as a result of their work.
Resources were provided through our website and 29,000 people accessed information to support them in their ministries among older people.
Our social media reach, carrying messages of encouragement, information and hope, was 15,000 people, and the newsletter reached 2000 people per month.
We championed the cause of older people and inspired and equipped Christians by reaching many people (sometimes millions) across Christian radio and TV, BBC local and national radio, BBC 1's Songs of Praise, as well as significant Christian online and printed publications.
We produced resources and delivered our Love My Neighbour winter loneliness campaign to raise awareness about the devastating effect of winter loneliness on older people, and to help Christians reach out to lonely and isolated older people in their neighbourhoods
In 2025 callers to the DailyHOPE phone line were supported with over half a million call minutes through almost 80,000 calls bringing hope and comfort with hymns, reflections and prayers to older individuals at home, and to people of all ages through the in-cell phone prison service.
We inspired and equipped Church Champions through 6 online Church Champion Training sessions from experts in the field, and we continued to make this training available on YouTube after each event. As a result of Church Champion research, we continued to focus on key issues that concern those ministering among older people in their local communities including rural ministry, retirement, dementia, sharing the gospel with older people, discipleship, and bereavement.
We have provided online networking opportunities for our Church Champions through five zoom events and a thriving WhatsApp group, providing prayer, encouragement and guidance to those serving older people in their communities.
We have developed partnerships with and delivered training, talks, interviews, and podcasts for denominations, para church organisations, and churches, to encourage and equip them to practically value older people and help them to have faith in later life.

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Public benefit
The charity meet the requirement for public benefit by -
- providing resources and information regarding different aspects of older age to equip Christians and churches to better serve older people; via the website and in the media.
- supporting a network of Christians involved with older people in the church/community. This support is via shared resources and online training events.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Charitable activities
Celebrating Outcomes
Our 2024 autumn survey revealed that Faith in Later Life is really valued for providing ideas, inspiration, training and encouragement - particularly through newsletters and online sessions.
89% of Church Champions surveyed said the impact of their ministry included either older people bringing their friends, sharing their faith, praying, becoming Christians, getting baptised or people living with dementia being supported to have faith in later life.
Partnerships
We are privileged to be affiliated with Christian projects such as Empowering Communities, Christians in Care and Christians Together Against Loneliness and together be a voice for older people.
In 2024 Faith in Later Life was generously supported in prayer and financially by individual givers, our partners London City Mission, The Salvation Army, Pilgrims Friend Society, and Keychange, as well as through grants awarded to us by Benefact Trust, Garfield Weston Foundation, Bishop Radford Trust, Jerusalem Trust, and Sir Halley Stewart Trust. We are tremendously thankful to all those who enable us to achieve our goals and help people have faith in later life.
In 2024, The Benefact Trust approved a grant of £45,000 over 3 years in equal tranches of £15,000 for the Church Champions Project at Faith in Later Life. Reporting for was due on 22 March 2025 in respect of the first tranche paid in financial year 2023/24. As a result of an administrative oversight, the report was submitted on 7 April showing that the charity was on track to achieve the outcomes and indicators required, but this delay meant that the second tranche of the grant from the Benefact Trust was not received until after the end of the 2024/25 financial year.
Fundraising activities
We secured grants from the founding organisations that support Faith in Later Life, as well as securing the final year of a grant from an external grant funding Trust.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial position

The reserve amounted to £82,838 (2024 £81,120). Of these restricted funds totalled £18,203 (2024 £59,361).,
