Over the past year, Turn Your Light On (TYLO) C.I.C. has been actively engaged in helping children and teenagers in our community. Our organisation provides mentorship, workshops, and one-on-one support to help them grow up to become happy and successful individuals. Our efforts have made a significant positive impact: - Children have a safe space to discuss their problems at school and home. - TYLO teaches children to express and handle their emotions better, making them more emotionally aware. - We encourage a positive mindset, helping kids approach challenges with a can-do attitude. - Parents have found a supportive environment to share their concerns about their children. - Children learn about stereotypes and how to stand up against them. They also learn about different cultures and why diversity is important. In short, TYLO's work over the year has been dedicated to supporting kids and teenagers, strengthening our community by helping them with their challenges and emotions and promoting a positive outlook.
TYLO engages with various stakeholders, including parents, schools, children's services, and funders. We consult with these stakeholders to ensure we comprehensively understand their needs. To achieve this, we interview parents and engage with school staff through surveys and interviews. We've organised focus groups with parents to address concerns related to children's mental health post-pandemic. Additionally, we have direct conversations with our primary beneficiaries, the children, which provide valuable insights into their problems and struggles. We gather data from these interactions, which we use to inform our decision-making process. We collect this data through surveys, questionnaires, and focus groups. In response to the feedback received, TYLO has taken concrete actions. We have utilised the research findings to develop targeted workshops and a mentoring program to support children's well-being. This approach helps to ensure that our initiatives directly address our stakeholders' identified needs and concerns. It is worth noting that the directors of TYLO bring a wealth of experience, with over 10 years of involvement in the education system. This extensive background contributes to a deep understanding of children's development, which further informs our strategies and actions to meet the expectations and requirements of our stakeholders.
