Year Ending: 31 March 2025

Company activities and impact

During this financial year we put on a display detailing the CICs community based projects at a Family Fun Day at Botanic Gardens, Southport. This was to help raise funds for our ongoing project of restoring the Marshside Fogbell. We also held several open days at the Fogbell and participated in a memorial service to mark the anniversary of the disaster that led to its construction. The CIC also setup a highly successful archaeology group on behalf of local charity Lathom Park Trust and is continuing to manage it on their behalf. One of its great successes being attracting more members for the trust including several school age children. The CIC also took part in the Heritage Open Days festival by opening the Fogbell as well as the Scarisbrick Mausoleum in Southport and putting on a display detailing the progress with restoration works. The CIC was also involved in delivering archaeology workshops to local schools, assisting Wirral Archaeology CIC in progressing archaeological research at Poulton Hall on the Wirral in addition to running an archaeology field school and field trips around Lathom in Lancashire. NW Heritage CIC also played a significant role in the survey of Basingwerk Abbey in Flintshire working in conjunction with CADW and Liverpool John Moores University.
