COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

PHOTO HUB NORTH COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Company Number: 13237431 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 March 2025

Company activities and impact

Photo Hub North delivers a wide range of community-focused activities, from one-day photography workshops to longer-term creative projects and large-scale festivals. All of these are offered free of charge to the local community, ensuring that people can access artistic experiences that may previously have been out of reach. Throughout our activities, we also promote environmentally conscious art practices and encourage participants to consider how these approaches can be incorporated into their everyday lives. Alongside our free programmes, we also provide paid workshops where individuals can learn new skills, develop their creative practice, and connect with others. The income generated from these sessions helps fund and sustain our free community activities. Over the past year, we have delivered 11 community workshops, one festival, and two major projects, directly engaging more than 1,500 people across the local area.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders include the community members we serve and the local community organisations we collaborate with. After every workshop or project, we invite stakeholders to complete an evaluation form. Their feedback is then shared with the Photo Hub Directors, enabling us to make any necessary improvements to our delivery. One example of a change made in response to stakeholder feedback was the creation of a mobile dark-room. Some community members were reluctant to travel outside their local area to attend workshops at the Photo Hub, so bringing the darkroom to them helped remove this barrier. In March 2024, we also held a series of community consultation events to learn what our stakeholders wanted to see at our upcoming festival. The results of these consultations were provided to the Festival Management Team to help shape festival planning.
