COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

GROWEATDO CIC

Company Number: 13997310 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 March 2025

Company activities and impact

GrowEatDo is committed to fostering a sense of community and inclusivity within Cranbrook and its surrounding areas. As a developing town it has been assigned as a healthy new town integrating urban planning with health initiatives. This vision includes a creation of multiple green spaces to promote well-being and community engagement. Cranbrook has a population of 10000 people with projections indicating significant growth in coming years. At least 20% of all housing in the town will be designated as social housing. Due to its status as a new town, demographic data remains limited, however there is a notably higher proportion of young adults and families. GrowEatDo adopts a whole community approach ensuring that its activities are inclusive and accessible to all residents of Cranbrook and its neighbouring areas. Since its establishment GrowEatDo has focussed on organising small scale events designed to create welcoming spaces where residents can connect and build relationships. Despite operating entirely through volunteers, GrowEatDo has successfully delivered impactful initiatives. During the last year volunteer availability has been effected by personal circumstances, limiting the organisations ability to expand its activities. Consequently, the primary focus has been on fostering community engagement rather than generating income. The CIC has concentrated on pop up events and participation in broader community activities. Providing quiet and inclusive spaces. Recently, GrowEatDo has partnered with the Creative Circle, a new community based group dedicated to fostering creativity as a means of community building. Interactions with residents have highlighted, a strong interest in organised creative activities, an area that GrowEatDo intends to develop further. Summary of activities: - PUBLIC LIVING ROOM AT CRANBROOK FESTIVAL - a dedicated space for social interaction and community connection. - POP UP PUBLIC LIVING ROOMS (2 EVENTS) - Informal gathering spaces promoting engagement and inclusivity. - CREATIVE WORKSHOPS IN COLLABORATION WITH CREATIVE CIRCLE (8 sessions) - Free workshops aimed at enhancing community creativity. - PUBLIC SPACE ENHANCEMENTS - Restoration of planters in the shared community area.

Consultation with stakeholders

As a company we have not directly engaged with stakeholder conversations other than informal feedback at events we have run. However, we have good links in the community with the Town Council, Cranbrook Community Action Group, LiveWest Housing Association, Cranbrook Church, Tiny Trails CIC, You Grow CIC and EX5 Alive Hub. These organisations have been involved in regular consultations with the community and pass anonymised information onto GrowEatDo so that as a company we can respond in a timely manner to community events and support other groups in the community.
