Creative Roots (Plymouth) CIC is a not-for-profit organisation using art as a foundation to promote cohesion, inclusion, social justice, diversity and fight prejudice and we offer a safe space to be able to be yourself. Creative Roots offer courses for a variety of groups such as beginners, those impacted by cancer and veterans. Being able to offer a safe space for groups to allow them to discover their inner artist. Numerous people have attended these courses, often developing a confidence both socially and artistically. This has led to some of the groups having their art displayed in public spaces around the city of Plymouth and a special outside veteran’s wall was created by a local group so that our veterans could display their artwork publicly.
The company’s stakeholders are the veterans, cancer survivors, their families and friends and all who attend our art and craft sessions. These people are key to the success of Creative Roots and we discuss with them on a regular basis the impact the sessions they attend have on them and what we can do to improve or change things. Everything we do is for the people who come to our art and craft sessions their input in our decision making is as important as our directors.
