Angus Pride is a volunteer-led Community Interest Company supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and allies across Angus. In 2025, the company organised its first Pride parade and community event in Arbroath, attended by approximately 200 parade participants and 1,000 visitors to the event in Victoria Park. The event included free family-friendly activities, live performances, food and craft stalls, and information stands from local not-for-profits and businesses, promoting social inclusion and community cohesion. Through these activities, Angus Pride provided a safe, welcoming space that supported mental health, reduced social isolation, and encouraged understanding and acceptance of LGBTQ+ people. The company engaged local organisations, businesses, volunteers, and public services in partnership, fostering collaboration and strengthening community networks. Feedback from participants, stallholders, and the wider public highlighted the positive impact on community spirit, accessibility, and inclusion. Beyond the main event, Angus Pride promotes year-round awareness, education, and support for the LGBTQ+ community in Angus, helping to address discrimination and promote equality. These activities benefit both LGBTQ+ individuals and the wider community by increasing visibility, encouraging dialogue, and celebrating diversity across the county.
Angus Pride’s stakeholders include the LGBTQ+ community in Angus, allies, local businesses, partner organisations, and volunteers. The company engages with stakeholders through social media channels, direct communications, and post-event feedback surveys. In 2025, following the inaugural Pride event, Angus Pride collected feedback from attendees, stallholders, performers, and volunteers to understand their experiences and suggestions for improvement. This consultation informed planning for future events, including ideas for additional activities and increased accessibility. The company continues to maintain ongoing dialogue with stakeholders to ensure its activities meet community needs and promote inclusion across Angus.
