Principal activities of the company

The charitable objects of the Charity are to safeguard, protect and preserve the good health, both mental and physical, of children and parents/carers of children; to prevent cruelty to or maltreatment of children; to relieve sickness, poverty and need amongst children and parents/carers of children; to promote the education of the public in better standards of child care; within the area of southern Oxfordshire and its environs.

Political and charitable donations

We are pleased to recognise the fantastic support from our largest donors: The Henry Smith Charity of £48,100; Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust of £38,086; BBC Children in Need of £30,000; The National Lottery Community Fund of £27,409. We have received funding from many town and parish councils, as well as grant-giving trusts, organisations and individuals. We thank them all.

Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 31 March 2025 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Other accounting policies

    The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime under the Companies Act 2006 and on an accruals basis. The company is a company limited by guarantee with no share capital. The liability of members in the event of winding-up is £1. There were no related-party transactions during the year requiring disclosure under the Companies Act 2006. Included within creditors are amounts relating to grant income received in advance for the following financial year and accrued service charge costs relating to the year ended 31 March 2025 but invoiced after the year end. The company has taken advantage of the small companies' exemptions in preparing these accounts. The trustees consider that there are no material uncertainties about the Charity's ability to continue as a going concern nor any significant areas of uncertainty that affect the carrying value of assets held by the Charity.
