Directors' report period ended 31 March 2025

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 March 2025

Principal activities of the company

Directors’ Report 2024–2025 About ReShape / International HIV Partnerships ReShape is a resource consultancy and think tank that fosters global collaboration with activists, organisers, and community leaders within and beyond the HIV response. Our work centres marginalised communities and their hopes and needs relating to sexual health, mental wellbeing, social equity, and justice. In an era marked by widening social inequalities, increased migration, shrinking civic space, movement fatigue, and social isolation, ReShape plays a connecting and convening role. We prioritise networking, open-source knowledge sharing, mutual mentoring, co-creation, solidarity, and movement-building as tools to address social and structural inequities and to strengthen collective capacity. Internal Activities During the reporting period, ReShape continued to engage a staff training consultant, supporting skills development and improving efficiency across the organisation’s three staff members. We held ongoing discussions with existing and prospective funders throughout the year and undertook a review and revision of ReShape’s internal structures to strengthen governance, workflows, and sustainability. Projects and External Activities Munich International AIDS Society–related activities To maximise the impact of the International Chemsex Symposium held in Munich, ReShape and partners hosted a series of preparatory online sessions between 15 and 17 July 2024. These sessions provided participants with shared context and foundational knowledge on key chemsex-related issues, enabling deeper discussion and collaboration during the in-person event. On 20 July 2024, ReShape and partners convened the International Chemsex Symposium at the Clinic of Dermatology, Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich. This landmark event brought together researchers, clinicians, policymakers, community representatives, and advocates from across regions to address chemsex as a complex public health and social issue. The symposium aimed to promote dialogue, harm reduction, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Following the symposium, ReShape and partners presented an abstract session in the Global Village at the International AIDS Conference, reporting on the themes and outcomes emerging from both the symposium and preparatory sessions. In addition, ReShape and partners hosted the chemsex networking zone in the Global Village: “Into Chems? Addressing chemsex and other sexualised substance use practices.” This space functioned as a dynamic hub for learning, exchange, and collaboration, showcasing international approaches to chemsex response, including culturally sensitive and integrated models of care. Through interactive sessions, workshops, and displays, the zone emphasised holistic approaches to health equity and social justice for marginalised communities. The Table Project The Table Project is a leadership training and exchange programme for HIV peer supporters and activists seeking greater confidence in public speaking, sharing lived experience, and participating in decision-making spaces. The project emerged from needs assessments conducted in 2021 as part of the Asian HIV Peer Support Project. The programme comprised eight sessions delivered over nine months, each led by an experienced Asian facilitator or speaker. Participants also received individual coaching and mentoring throughout the project. Interpretation was provided in Urdu, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Indonesian, supporting accessibility and meaningful participation across linguistic contexts. WAVE survey on PrEP information needs among trans communities ReShape collaborated with EACS WAVE (Women Against Viruses in Europe) and TGEU (Trans Europe and Central Asia) to develop, disseminate, and analyse a survey assessing educational needs related to PrEP among trans communities. This collaboration contributed to improved understanding of gaps in access to relevant, affirming, and accurate PrEP information. 6th Asia Pacific Chemsex Conference Ben Collins, ReShape Partnerships Lead, presented alongside partners at the 6th Asia Pacific Chemsex Conference. The presentation, “Agency, pleasure, and choices in chemsex,” reflected the conference’s emphasis on culturally sensitive, multidisciplinary dialogue. Since its inception in 2019, the Asia Pacific Chemsex Symposium has become a vital platform bringing together community members, healthcare professionals, CSOs, researchers, policymakers, and donors to address locally relevant chemsex challenges, including HIV and STI prevention, mental health, and harm reduction. London Chemsex Conference ReShape presented a global perspective on chemsex at the London Chemsex Conference. On 7 June 2024, 67 delegates attended an in-person multi-agency event at Camden Town Hall. Originally planned as an invitation-only event for 60 participants, demand significantly exceeded capacity, with over 250 people requesting attendance or expressing interest in future events. In response, two further conferences were delivered on 11 October and 15 November 2024. Santos Chemsex Symposium In December 2024, ReShape collaborated with Brazilian and international chemsex responders to host the first Chemsex Symposium in Brazil, held in Santos. This event marked an important step in supporting regional dialogue and capacity-building in Latin America. Online Engagement Across all online activities, ReShape aims to replicate the relational quality of face-to-face engagement. For example, Table Project training and exchange sessions were intentionally designed without slide presentations to prioritise dialogue, reflection, and peer learning. Participants were actively encouraged to share resources, links, and contacts via Zoom chat, reinforcing mutual exchange and connection. Future Funding The lower level of funding recorded this financial year reflects a significant grant received in the previous year, part of which supported activities from April to December 2024. ReShape awaited confirmation of new funding to cover activities beginning in January 2025. Although this funding was not received within the current financial year, it was deposited in June 2025 and will be reflected in the 2025–2026 accounts. Approved by the Director and signed on behalf of the organisation by Mr Benjamin Collins 20 December 2025

Consultation with stakeholders

The Table Project emerged from needs assessments conducted in 2021 as part of the Asian HIV Peer Support Project. ReShape staff and Asian facilitators introduced the needs assessment to stakeholders who had participated in earlier activities to develop the plan for the Table Project. To develop what became the Munich International AIDS Society–related activities, ReShape consulted with colleagues at WHO to discuss possible activities at the IAS conference. From there ReShape developed a survey, with international colleagues, to measure international interest in participating in activities related to the IAS conference, either in person or virtually. People were asked to state their interest and identify key points of interest to be explored in those activities. 200 people responded from all world regions. People overwhelmingly supported the venture and gave clear direction for the key points of interest. Responders were then invited to participate in planning sessions with ReShape and international colleauges, which outlined the agenda and came up with a proposal for three pre-conference Zoom sessions plus the day-long Symposium and a number of other activities related to the conference. From there, after the conference, ReShape then developed a stronger group of allies which moved on to future planning for a world network responding to chemsex issues.
