We promoted the arts generally through the noticeboard in the bookshop and by promoting local brochures and leaflets through the bookshop. We also continued our relationship with Climate Action Taunton where we helped promote their events generally and helped find authors and provided events in association with them on the subject of climate change. We continued our collaboration with local organisations including Tacchi-Morris, The Wyndham Theatre, The Temple Methodist Church and the local libraries in Taunton and Priorswood and further afield in Porlock. We also donated a number of books to local charity groups throughout the year. Staffing 2 Full time staff, one part-time staff. 14 volunteers were employed to help with the stewarding of events, the distribution of catalogues and also helping with tasks within the bookshop.
Stakeholders are the wider local public and include writers, educationalists, volunteers and collaborative organisations. We gave advice and direction to enquiries from local authors asking advice on writing, publishing and the promotion of their work. This included referral to publications, publishers, local writing and poetry groups and other organisations. We also encouraged feedback on which authors our customers would like to give a talk.
