Directors' report period ended 31 March 2025

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 March 2025

Principal activities of the company

The CIC was set up to be the long leaseholders and independent manager of the St Martin’s Youth Centre in Lambeth. The London Borough of Lambeth had constructed the youth centre as part of a building programme for two new schools on the St Martin’s Estate. Operational since September 2017 the CIC has agreed to become a Community and Arts hub with a focus on projects that reach a variety of youth centred activities including dance, drumming, music, as well as space for young artists to create. The longlease for St Martin’s Youth Centre has never been provided to the CIC by Lambeth Council with the CIC operating under a licence to occupy since its formation. During 2024/25 Lambeth Council withdrew from its commitment to the longlease and issued an eviction notice to the CIC. The CIC vacated St Martin’s Youth Centre on 17 December 2024. Consequently Trustees have been reviewing alternative delivery methods to enable the CIC to continue to support young people in Lambeth.
