Expressions TV and Media Productions CIC’s main purpose, focus, and vision continue to centre on supporting young people in the performing arts, specifically singing, dancing, and spoken word/poetry. We are committed to identifying, nurturing, and developing young people’s talents and skills through accessible, community-based programmes that encourage creativity, confidence, and positive personal development. During the financial year ending March 2025, the organisation remained largely semi active in terms of full programme delivery. This period was intentionally used to restructure our team, review our programmes, and strengthen our quality and delivery systems to improve effectiveness, sustainability, and long-term impact. Behind the scenes, significant work has taken place to establish improved systems for resource mobilisation, including sourcing funding through grants and exploring potential partnerships and sponsorship opportunities with organisations within the media and performing arts industries. Despite reduced operational activity, we maintained regular engagement with young people from our existing database, developed during previous years when the organisation was fully functional. We upgraded our governance practices to monthly team meetings and ensured continued communication and support for young people. Throughout the year, advice and guidance related to performing arts development were offered in line with our organisational policies and ethos. Notably, during this financial year, Expressions TV and Media Productions CIC supported two emerging artists to record and successfully release original music, contributing positively to their creative development and professional exposure. Our primary method of engagement remained monthly in-person sessions, supplemented by email communication. Where requested, indicated, and consented to, phone or video calls were used to deliver performing arts mini-sessions with the support of our trained professionals in music, dance, and spoken word. Looking ahead, we are actively planning to upgrade our online systems and digital infrastructure to enable the delivery of full online sessions alongside in-person activities, allowing the CIC to become fully operational in a more cost-effective and inclusive way. In preparation for the new financial year, the organisation has grant applications currently pending, with anticipated funding of approximately £10,000, which will be used to restart and expand programme delivery and strengthen organisational capacity. Expressions TV and Media Productions CIC places the safeguarding and wellbeing of young people at the heart of all our work. In line with our policies: 1)We fully adhere to data protection regulations and do not share personal information of young people in our database with third parties. 2)All staff and volunteers who engage with young people are appropriately screened, interviewed, and required to complete a mandatory DBS check, which is reviewed annually. Through these measures, we continue to uphold high standards of safety, accountability, and care while preparing for a renewed period of growth and community impact.
The company’s main stakeholders are the young people who participate in our programmes. They are regularly given opportunities to provide feedback on the services and support received through feedback forms, which include a suggestions section. All feedback is reviewed by the programme development team and, where appropriate, is considered for incorporation into future programme design to ensure our services remain empowering, relevant, and beneficial. In addition, as part of our commitment to improving quality and effectiveness, the company has conducted community surveys to better understand the types of programmes the communities we serve would like to see, alongside those previously offered. Feedback gathered through these consultations continues to inform future planning and development.
