All income supports the delivery of KINARAA’s mission and impact. KINARAA CIC is a Black led infrastructure organisation working to embed equity, legacy, and culturally responsive services across Lewisham and South East London. The outcome is to achieve systems change to grow the Lewisham Black Third Sector, sustain solutions and innovations only they can achieve, and eradicate health inequalities. In 2024 to 2025, KINARAA delivered a programme of strategic support, advocacy, and community engagement aligned with Propels funding objectives. Key activities included: The organisation acting as a delivery partner for the Ubele Agbero 2100 programme in Lewisham funded by Propel. KINARAA provided one to one consultancy and governance support for two Black led organisations operating in council and housing association leased buildings, addressing systemic barriers to sustainability and access to space. KINARAA designed and delivered an intergenerational Black History Month event attended by 60 residents, leaders, and young people. This produced a youth led insight project on effective programme design, using natural opportunities to engage communities while delivering the Agbero 2100 programme in Lewisham. KINARAA convened a forum of four Black led organisations to address tenancy and licensing issues, followed by the development of an Action Learning Set model to build leadership capacity and legacy. KINARAA hosted a stall at the Lewisham Local Strategic Partnership, expanding its network by 20 stakeholder organisations. KINARAA delivered strategic advocacy through roles on the Lewisham Health and Care Board, the South East London VCSE Alliance, and as an IVAR Open and Fair Funder Assessor, embedding VCSE organisations as system partners in governance and funding. These activities contributed to systemic change, youth empowerment, sector resilience, and collaborative learning, delivering both immediate outputs and long term outcomes for Lewisham’s Black VCSE sector.
KINARAA’s work is rooted in deep, ongoing consultation with community stakeholders, VCSE leaders, and system partners. During the reporting period: Black led organisations were engaged through forums, one to one support, and collaborative programme design. Young people co designed insight projects and participated in interactive mapping sessions with the Young Mayor’s Office, reaching students from five schools. Community members, academics, and local leaders contributed to events and workshops, including a panel featuring Professor Joan Anim Addo and Rosamond Kissi Debrah. Strategic partners, including Lewisham Council, South East London ICB, and housing associations, were engaged through presentations, meetings, and advocacy efforts. This consultative approach ensured that KINARAA’s activities were responsive, inclusive, and shaped by those most affected by systemic inequities.
