During the financial year, Friends of Thornbury Park CIC supported the local community through activities focused on the improvement, enjoyment, and sustainability of Thornbury Park. The company’s activities included engaging local residents through community subscriptions, fundraising initiatives such as tree adoption and small-scale sales of jams, and working with stakeholders to support environmental improvements within the park. Funding received during the year, including community contributions and a local authority grant, was used to support these objectives and to reimburse legitimate expenses incurred in delivering community benefit. The company’s activities promoted community involvement, environmental stewardship, and wellbeing, helping to strengthen local engagement with Thornbury Park as a shared community asset.
During the financial year, Friends of Thornbury Park CIC consulted with stakeholders through a range of informal and practical engagement activities. This included park clean-up days and litter-picking activities, which provided opportunities to engage directly with local residents and park users. The company also held meetings and its AGM with community members, including meetings at a local pub and informal discussions within the park itself. In addition, the company used its Facebook page to communicate with supporters, share updates, and gather feedback from the wider community. These activities enabled ongoing dialogue with local residents and stakeholders and helped ensure that the company’s activities reflected community priorities and needs.
