The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 March 2025
Principal Activities
Additional information
REVIEW OF THE YEAR. The financial year was a period of consolidation and low external trading activity for the Company. During the year, the Directors undertook a conscious pause in programme delivery in order to preserve organisational infrastructure while undertaking a period of reflection, learning and re-orientation following an extended period of intensive project delivery in previous years. This period of consolidation was intentionally used to review the Company’s future direction, working methods and areas of focus, with particular attention given to developing more sustainable and regenerative models of creative practice, partnership and engagement. To maintain organisational continuity and meet essential operating costs, the Company was recapitalised by the Directors through the introduction of shareholder funds. These funds were used to support core administration and minimal staff continuity during the year. The Company recorded a planned operating loss for the year, reflecting its low-activity consolidation phase. The Company remains solvent and is adequately capitalised. PUBLICATIONS. Word After Word has three current publications. 36 Hours by Fiona Mason (paperback and Kindle); The Making of Ynyslas by John Mason (paperback); Wales, the Missing Years by John S Mason (paperback). Kindle versions of the two J S Mason titles are planned for 2026 along with audiobook versions of all. FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS. The Directors are currently in the early stages of exploring a refreshed strategic direction for the Company, including research and development activity to inform future programme design, partnership models and funding approaches. The coming period will focus on establishing a renewed framework of practice that aligns with sustainable, ethical and regenerative working principles, prior to the recommencement of fuller programme delivery.
