Company activities and impact

In the last year our overall focus was raising as much awareness of The Nigerian Children Cause, NCC. We ran serval small youth focus groups. In order to find out what the youths in the UK wanted, with regards to them getting off the streets and embracing their heritage. We found that many enjoy the Arts, such music, afrobeat, performing Arts, fashion and film making. We continued our research to understand the specific needs of children in our communities we serve. This involved us conducting surveys, interviews, and consultations with parents, teachers, community leaders, and healthcare providers. We will continue to research this as changes may evolve as time goes on. Our research also helped us to Identify vulnerable groups of children, such as those living in extreme poverty, disabled children, or children affected by conflict or disease, both in the UK and in Nigeria. Understanding how children's needs differ across regions, especially for large charities working (such as Water Aid) in diverse geographic areas (e.g., rural vs. urban, or different cultural contexts). Future research was done to measure the direct and indirect impact of our cause’s interventions on children’s lives in the UK. Which involved us comparing the outcomes of children who have been involved with us this year, versus those who have not. To conclude, we Surveyed all those who attended our youth workshops and community events. Additionally, interviews with the children and their families, schools, and community associations to gather feedback on the charity’s programs, identifying areas for improvement or new opportunities. We started exploring new methodologies and strategies in child protection and ensuring that our programs are safe and meet international safeguarding standards. We have been researching the prospect of tutoring and mentoring programs to help Nigerian youths in the UK excel in their studies, especially in core subjects like mathematics, English, and sciences. We have been to various events and collaborated with other charities and organisations within the Nigerian diaspora. In the last year we have grown and manged to raise more awareness about our cause. We have now gained members who are will to be part of our initiatives and help drive the UK youths in living a happier live in the UK. Meanwhile supporting our project in Nigeria for the underprivileged children. Celebrating Black History month October 2024. Launching our ‘Changing Lives UK Project’, We had our first Cultural Gala. This was sponsored by The National Lottery to celebrate King Charles and Queen Camilla Coronation. This showed our community the UK that we are appreciated and good contributors to the UK society. Through public support and encouragement, we have been able to feed over 500 children in Nigeria and help more underprivileged children through primary school. In the UK we have been able to successfully promote youth artists and performers as well as engagement from UK youths online and attending our workshops and events. Bring our communities together in London, Manchester and Nottingham. We are still researching the barriers that prevent children from accessing education, such as poverty, long distances to schools, gender discrimination, or lack of educational infrastructure for both here in the UK and in Nigeria. We believe this will help us towards tackling the identity crisis growing among our youth living in the UK.
