The company ran 4 different projects that used physical activity to engage women in health changing practices in Hackney and Southwark. The activities were predominantly strength training and therapeutic interventions, but running and HIIT were used for the first time as primary interventions. The company attracted and engaged approximately 180 women in sustained physical activity across the year. Women who attended classes reported improved mental wellbeing, happiness, mobility, increased strength and generally feeling more healthy.
Women living, working or engaged in life in Hackney and Southwark are the company’s primary stakeholders. Additional stakeholders include the local authorities, public health teams and local NHS services, the wider NHS service and community groups focused on serving women in our primary areas. We continually consulted women through surveys, in person feedback loops, digital mediums including our social media and WhatsApp groups and through 2 open call-outs online for women to share what services they would like and let us know what barriers they were facing to engaging. We consulted public services including local authority services and NHS services through collaborative work with specific teams in Hackney Public Health, workers in the NHS GP surgery’s and by sharing with all relevant services, including charities and community groups working locally, our referral form and information on how to contact us. Women engaged and considering engaging with us provided the most feedback and projects were shaped, changed and modified in real time to address their needs. Limited feedback was captured from other services, and is an area we feel we need to invest more time in to get improved stakeholder feedback.
No remuneration was received
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
