The objects of the company are to advance the public’s education of performing arts, in particular the art of dance to enable young people aged 3 to 21 to develop their abilities in performing arts through the provision of a dance festival in South Wales. This will enable them to perform and receive professional feedback to further their skills within their art and in doing so this will encourage children and young people to develop a wide range of physical and emotional skills and capabilities which will in turn enable them to mature into responsible members of society with resilience, ambition and confidence. During the course of the first year of activity, we successfully held the inaugural dance festival across a period of three days during the October 2024 half term, using the facilities at Stanwell School, Penarth to host the event. 200 participants were registered with over 400 dances ranging across solos, duets, trios, quartets, small groups (min 5 dancers; max 10 dancers) and large groups (min 11 dancers; max 30 dancers). Following the success of our 2024 festival, we are proud to announce that Centre Stage Dance Festival has been designated as an All England Dance (AED) nominated festival from 2025 onwards. This means our October 2025 festival will serve as an official AED Qualifier. In addition, Centre Stage Dance Festival holds full membership status with the British and International Federation of Festivals (BiFF), further reinforcing our commitment to excellence within the performing arts community. Recognising our AED affiliation, we are delighted to collaborate with UK Young Dancer during the 2025/26 season toto host the inaugural Wales-based workshop in June 2025. This will provide dances across Wales with greater access to prestigious national opportunities, fostering talent and support the next generation of performers.
