Principal activities of the company

The principal activities of the company during the financial year were the planning, delivery, and facilitation of community-based seasonal retreats and events rooted in nature connection, wellbeing, and practical Druidry. The company delivered four fully catered residential retreats aligned with the seasonal cycle, alongside associated workshops, rituals, and shared community activities. In addition, the company supported community participation through volunteer and working-crew roles, provided inclusive and family-friendly spaces, and developed its operational infrastructure to support sustainable future delivery. During the year, the company also undertook preparatory work for the development of educational courses and a membership programme to support its charitable and community objectives.

Company activities and impact

The Heart of Yew CIC exists to support community wellbeing, connection to nature, and accessible spiritual and cultural practice. During the financial year, the organisation delivered seasonal gatherings, workshops, and immersive events rooted in land-based learning, creativity, and shared heritage. These activities provided safe, inclusive spaces for people of all ages to build confidence, reduce isolation, and develop practical skills connected to wellbeing, folklore, and environmental awareness. The CIC actively supported volunteers and facilitators by offering training opportunities, creative platforms, and community roles, strengthening local networks and peer support. Events prioritised affordability and accessibility, with community pricing, shared meals, and collaborative participation. Through these activities, The Heart of Yew has contributed to mental wellbeing, social cohesion, and a deeper sense of belonging for participants, while nurturing respectful relationships with land, history, and community.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 2 December, providing an opportunity for members and stakeholders to review the organisation’s activities, financial position, and future plans. Stakeholders were invited to ask questions, share feedback, and contribute to discussions on governance, priorities, and upcoming projects. Feedback and discussion from the AGM informed planning for the following year and helped ensure the organisation remains accountable, transparent, and responsive to the community it serves. Feedback received at the AGM confirmed that stakeholders were satisfied with the progress made during the financial year, and no further actions or changes were identified as required at that time.
