Career and Business Support Initiatives Job Club Plus & Over 50s Job Club – 104 sessions (100+): Delivered consistent job support and employability training across Enfield Town Library and Edmonton Green Library, focusing on career development and business support (including those aged 50+). Job Fair – April 2023: Organised a community job fair to connect job seekers with local employers, offering direct opportunities for employment and networking. CV Writing & Interview Preparation Workshops: Supported employability across age groups by enhancing CV and interview skills. Digital Inclusion Initiative Digital Skills Workshops – 40 sessions: Addressed digital inequalities through computer literacy and confidence-building sessions (with a strong focus on residents aged 50+). Digital Futures (for STEPS clients): Curated and delivered a bespoke workshop introducing practical AI, online tools and digital employability skills for participants referred by STEPS. Community Engagement Projects Regular Engagement & Health/Employment Meetings: Participated in borough-wide meetings focused on employment, community engagement, and health to align efforts and tackle inequalities. Youth Support Initiatives Youth Mentoring: Ongoing support for hard-to-reach young people and those at risk of violence, with life-skills development and mentoring aimed at positive community contribution. Partnerships Strengthened collaboration with the Over 50s Forum to extend reach for digital inclusion. Strategic partners: Black Heritage Hub (new strategic partner) and NYCC (continuing). Delivery partners and stakeholders: STEPS, Enfield Libraries, Over 50's Forum Enfield Council Apprenticeships Team, and other local agencies. Post year end highlight (February–October 2024)The following activity occurred after the formal year-end date but before approval of this report and is included as a community impact snapshot. Black History Month Networking Event – October 2024 Engagement: Reached 170 community members. Offer: Free LinkedIn headshots (photographer on site) and free haircuts (barber). Workshops: Intro to Artificial Intelligence, CV writing, and Personal Branding. Speakers: Wilton – solicitor by day, social media influencer & vegan blogger. Naomi Gray – stylist; delivered a session on “Styling on a Budget.” Shirane – specialist talk on personal branding. Participating organisations: STEPS, Enfield Council Apprenticeships Team, Metropolitan Police, and local community groups. Outcome: Strengthened networks between residents, employers, services and creatives; boosted employability confidence and digital/brand awareness. Looking ahead (2025/26 priorities) Consolidate strategic partnerships (Black Heritage Hub, NYCC) and scale co-delivered programmes. Repeat BHM networking event model; expand employer/service presence. Grow Digital Inclusion (including Digital Futures) and integrate AI literacy into employability support. Evidence outcomes with stronger metrics (jobs secured, interviews, digital skill gains, youth progression).
Ongoing discussions on non vocational training expansion (e.g., smartphone photography, graphic design, technology troubleshooting). Exploration of contributions to health awareness and promotion in deprived London areas to support accessibility to services.
