Principal activities of the company

The objects of the Company are to carry on activities which benefit the community and in particular (without limitation) to provide training and support to empower individuals who are learning new skills from local communities, representative organisations and grassroots initiatives to enhance their chances of gaining employment or becoming self-employed. Although the training and support is open to all such individuals, the company aims to specialise in helping neuro-divergent people. Geographically, this will focus initially on London and the Home Counties.

Company activities and impact

MIT.SIP Community Interest Company was incorporated to deliver activities that benefit the community by providing training and support to individuals who need to develop new skills in order to improve their employment prospects. The company has a particular focus on supporting neuro-divergent people and working with local communities, representative organisations and grassroots initiatives, initially within London and the Home Counties. During the financial year, the company remained dormant in trading terms; however, its activities during this period were focused on laying the foundations necessary to deliver future community benefit. These activities have benefited, and are expected to continue to benefit, the community in the following ways. the company developed a clear social mission and delivery framework focused on addressing barriers to employment faced by neuro-divergent individuals, ensuring that future training and support services are inclusive and accessible preparatory work was undertaken to design training programmes aimed at building practical, transferable skills to enhance employability and self-employment opportunities within local communities engagement and initial relationship-building took place with grassroots organisations and community representatives to identify unmet training and support needs at a local level the company established governance and compliance structures required of a Community Interest Company, ensuring that all future activities and any surpluses will be used solely for community benefit by maintaining a focus on London and the Home Counties, the company positioned itself to support local economic participation and skills development in areas where employment inequalities persist The directors consider that this preparatory work was necessary and appropriate during a dormant period and has placed the company in a strong position to begin delivering direct training, support and measurable community impact in future financial years, in line with its community interest objectives.
