The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 30 April 2025
Additional information
Review of the Year The company has grown in significant strength during its first accounting year. The launch of the overhead management group, NN Local Media & Training CIC (trading as NN Media), enabled the successful relaunch of Northants 1, delivering a more mature and popular output that has been well received by local audiences and clients. During the period, the company successfully launched its first Media Training Cohort for secondary school–aged students in North Northamptonshire. The Academy Training program currently has 6 students aged between 12 and 17 on roll, about to complete their training and move into practical skills training. A further 7 students are invited to join the next cohort of Academy students aged between 13 and 17. Demand for the program has also been received from the West Northamptonshire and Market Harborough areas, demonstrating clear appetite for the company’s community-focused training offer. Several existing team members progressed into new leadership roles during the year, strengthening accountability, operational resilience, and the company’s commitment to serving the local community. Future Developments Plans for the 2025/26 financial year include the launch of Northants Rewind and Northants 2, both of which aim to deliver key local content and important information, alongside entertainment and music playlists tailored to specific audiences. Going Concern NN Media has adequate resources to continue providing its services, subject to the ongoing ability to secure consistent volunteer team members and financial income through sponsorship, client partnerships, and grant funding. The directors consider the company to be a going concern for the foreseeable future.

NN Media operate a group of local radio stations providing people of the local area key local information and entertainment, education training facilities and outside broadcast events. In the financial year 2024-2025, our activities have benefited the community in the following ways: -Broadcast local radio shows containing local information, news and events as well as entertainment catered to an Under-40’s audience. We’ve achieved a total of 57,269.65 listening hours for Northants 1. -Hosted on-air interviews with several local organisations and charities to promote their activities and offerings for the local area. -Provided 6 secondary school children with entry-level Media Training via our Academy program. A further 7 children started the training in April 2025. -Attended several events in North Northamptonshire to provide entertainment and PA system for Kettering Town Council, North Northamptonshire Council, private organisations and broadcast live from a shopping centre in conjunction with other local radio stations for the first Northamptonshire Day. -Strengthened our relationship with the Lighthouse Theatre, to provide marketing via recorded videos and audio interviews for the pantomime and other shows throughout the year. -Worked with a local education trust to provide school children an insight into radio via their enrichment program.
Plans for a public community feedback survey are in preparation for the financial year 2025-2026. However, we regularly take feedback from members of the public via email and in person at our outside broadcasts. Our directors are almost always contactable and have a heavy involvement in the day-to-day operations of the radio stations and events, and so are always in engagement with the radio stations' teams. We operated quarterly team meetings to be able to keep the team informed of our activities, goals and information. These regularly had open discussions of ongoing concerns and idea implementation.
