The specific community is the independent traders of Ware Town Centre but also the group will provide benefit to the whole community of Ware, Hertfordshire by improving the High Street (Town centre) so that it is a vibrant centre of commerce and community activity that supports the health (in its widest sense) of local residents and businesses. We have provided a number of traders with free consultation on shopfront layout and marketing strategy, the result being a number of shops adding additional signage to increase footfall. Provided traders with informational leaflets on upcoming events to get involved with in the town centre. Set up a Christmas shopfront competition for traders to boost festive displays, and offering prizes for the best displayed shops.
We followed up on feedback for our shop front consultations and have had positive feedback from the businesses involved. For example, one of the shops in our high street was a yoga studio / cafe, but from the consultation had feedback that customers couldn't tell what they did from looking at the shopfront, and it didn't look inviting. This led to her making changes to her studio, which has resulted in increased footfall and she has given positive feedback about the changes.
No remuneration was received
