COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

RADICAL EMBRACE CIC

Company Number: 15631634 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 April 2025

Company activities and impact

Radical Embrace CIC exists to provide individuals and groups from historically disadvantaged backgrounds (such as but not limited to women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, people of colour, people with disabilities, people facing financial hardship) mindfulness meditation and somatic practices through in-person and online events, courses, retreats and one-to-one personalised products, services and experiences to enhance mental, emotional and physical health and wellbeing. During the year ending 30 April 2025, the CIC ran weekly online drop-in sessions (Earth-touching Tuesdays), an online six-month online course (I am because we are), two day-long online Trauma-informed teaching workshops, and an online weekend retreat. These activities aimed to foster lifelong and transformative skills and techniques to reduce stress, increase productivity, improve communication and relationships and enhance resilience. We provide tiered payment options for individuals to select according to their capabilities, and no one is turned away if they can’t afford to attend. The CIC also collaborated with independent facilitators and volunteers to deliver its programmes effectively. Earth-touching Tuesdays currently serves a community of over 250 people, with a regular attendance of roughly 15-20 people/session. The I am because we are six-month course included 24 participants. 120 people attended our two trauma-informed teaching workshops. Our community has benefited from these offerings through improved personal meditation practices, improved personal and professional relationships, improved mood, and enhanced personal agency. One participant on the six-month course said that as a result of the course they felt: “A little more relaxed ( tolerant) of myself and others, a little less overwhelmed by world events and a bit more empowered.”

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders include participants in drop-in sessions, courses, workshops, and retreats, as well as volunteer facilitators and collaborators. Consultation has been informal and ongoing through discussions during meetings, events, email feedback, and reflection sessions. We also provide feedback forms at the end of retreats, workshops and courses. Feedback from participants and collaborators has been welcomed and considered when planning and adapting courses, workshops, and retreats. Where possible, suggestions have been implemented to improve accessibility, inclusivity, and the overall participant experience.

Directors' remuneration

During the year the director was remunerated for services provided to the company as follows: £4,813 teaching fees and £1,920 for administrative support, giving a total remuneration of £6,733. Subscription costs totalling £497 were reimbursed to the director and are not included in remuneration.
