During the financial year 17 April 2024 to 30 April 2025, Unity Support Network CIC has benefited the local community in the following ways: The company has delivered free and low-cost community activities from Charterhouse Road Community Centre, supporting residents across Hackney, particularly those experiencing isolation, financial hardship, or limited access to services. Community meals and food support initiatives were provided, reducing food insecurity and offering a safe, welcoming space for residents to socialise and build relationships. The organisation supported children and young people through creative, educational, and wellbeing-based activities, including youth workshops and holiday programmes, helping to improve confidence, emotional wellbeing, and social skills. Unity Support Network CIC worked closely with local residents, volunteers, housing providers, and partner organisations to improve communal spaces, increase community engagement, and encourage resident-led participation. The company supported vulnerable individuals and families by offering signposting, advocacy, and practical assistance, helping them access statutory services and community resources. Volunteering opportunities were created for local people, enabling them to contribute positively to their community, gain experience, and build skills. Overall, the company’s activities have promoted social inclusion, reduced isolation, improved wellbeing, and strengthened community connections within the local area.
The company’s stakeholders include local residents, volunteers, families, children and young people, housing providers, community partners, and local organisations operating in and around Charterhouse Road and the wider Hackney area. Consultation has taken place through regular informal engagement, including conversations at community events, workshops, community meals, youth activities, and residents’ meetings. The director also receives direct feedback from residents and volunteers during service delivery and through follow-up discussions after events. Feedback from stakeholders has influenced the planning and delivery of activities, including the timing and type of community meals, the development of youth and family activities, wellbeing-focused projects, and improvements to communal spaces. Stakeholder input has ensured that services are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of those experiencing isolation, financial hardship, or limited access to support. The company continues to engage stakeholders on an ongoing basis to inform future activities and ensure community-led decision-making.
