Company activities and impact

Work continued on our research project at St John’s Church in Chester. The archives were studied, the medieval stones and tiles in the church and those stored in the Chapter House were photographed and examined in detail. Further geophysical and GPR surveys were carried out inside the church and in the grounds, in collaboration with a lecturer from Manchester Metropolitan University. Geophysical surveys were carried out in the Grosvenor Park, Chester. Members of the public and Chester University archaeology students were able to watch and ask questions during the surveys. A university student was able to complete a work placement at St John’s church under the guidance of two of Chapel Archaeology’s directors. A lecture was delivered to Chester Civic Trust on Chapel Archaeology’s work in the Chester area and St John’s Church in particular.
