This CIC has been working through its start-up phase this year, in particular setting up of its structures to be able to run effectively and efficiently in the future. Though much effort has been put into setting up operationally, we have nonetheless been able to make a positive impact to the community in line with our Objects. These have included: - Providing a means (through digital networking and training events) for Christian parents to identify churches and Christian charities who are supporting their children’s schools. This has meant increased volunteer effort working with churches and Christian charities, as well as increased level of support (spiritual or otherwise) for local schools, to the mutual benefit. - Providing a means (through digital showcasing & networking events) for local Christian charities and churches to more easily expand their customer base / target audience through identifying key links from school communities that they are trying to support. - Directly supporting local church-based youth ministries by supporting their leaders, both in training and in resources. - Engaging with other Christian charities around the UK to ascertain future support opportunities we could offer, as we seek to scale up in the future beyond the city of Southampton (where we have been focussing on so far).
The CIC’s stakeholders are the community we are trying to serve in relation to our Objects. The are namely: Christian charities / churches working with children and young people, Christian parents, and Christians representing the Education sector. From the analysis of traditional means of data gathering as well as from conversations anecdotally, there is a consensus that the needs of our stakeholders are twofold: the need to know whom they can collaborate with, as well as training/resources for how they themselves want to support young people. This has therefore driven our strategy towards identifying means of catalysing collaboration, as well as a decision to invest time into increasing accessibility to resources, digital or otherwise. We will also be working on training courses as a result of feedback received from our stakeholders. The CIC’s directors all have varying types of (but nonetheless significant) experience with our stakeholders, and corporately own the strategy and approach to best achieve our Objects in line with stakeholder needs.
