Connecting All Communities - Impactful Activities and Trips Report 2024-2025 Connecting All Communities is a nonprofit community interest company dedicated to fostering unity, support, and inclusivity within the Borough of Hackney. Through a range of activities and initiatives, the organisation aims to empower and uplift individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. Activities and Trips: 1. Weekly Food Bank: Providing halal hot meals twice a week in various parts of the Borough of Hackney, the food bank addresses food insecurity and promotes cultural inclusivity by offering nutritious meals to those in need. Connecting All Communities (CAC) is a community organisation dedicated to addressing food insecurity in the region of Hackney. The CAC team diligently prepares nutritious meals and eases their distribution throughout the area, including homeless shelters and individuals facing food insecurity. Moreover, CAC actively collaborates with local supermarkets to rescue unsold produce, forming fresh vegetables, fruits, and bakery items, which are then redistributed to those in need within the Hackney community. This initiative runs from a rented facility in Hackney for centralised distribution. Notably, this project has played a pivotal role in supporting the residents of Hackney during the pandemic and has proven sustained success since its start. 2. Families Holiday Clubs: Hosting over 150 children and their families during school holidays, the holiday clubs offer a safe and engaging space for recreation, learning, and community bonding, ensuring families have access to fun activities during breaks. 3. Black History Month and Winter Fair: By organising events such as Black History Month celebrations and winter fairs, Connecting All Communities educates, celebrates, and recognises the cultural heritage and diversity within the community, fostering a sense of pride and belonging. 4. After School Club: Providing a supportive environment for children after school hours, the club offers educational help, recreation, and social interaction, contributing to the holistic development of participating children. Impact on the Community: The activities and trips organised by Connecting All Communities have had a significant impact on the local community by: - Addressing food insecurity through the weekly food bank. - Providing educational and recreational opportunities for children and families during school holidays. - Celebrating cultural heritage and diversity through events like Black History Month and winter fair. - Supporting children's academic and social development through the after-school club. By actively engaging with and supporting the community, Connecting All Communities plays a crucial role in promoting unity, empowerment, and positive social change within the Borough of Hackney.
