During the financial year, the company’s primary focus was Let’s Create, a programme of unstructured creative play sessions designed to encourage imagination, creativity and confidence in children and young people. The sessions provided safe, welcoming spaces where children could explore materials freely, lead their own play, and express themselves without pressure or formal instruction. Let’s Create benefited children, young people and families in the local community by supporting wellbeing, social connection and informal learning. The sessions were accessible and inclusive, welcoming families from a wide range of backgrounds and encouraging intergenerational participation. Alongside delivery, the company supported community engagement and early-stage planning for future creative activity in the area, including the development of Offbeat Dursley. This work focused on partnership-building, listening to local residents and identifying ways to reduce barriers to participation in creative and cultural activity. Overall, the company’s activities contributed to community wellbeing, creativity and connection, with a particular focus on providing inclusive opportunities for children and families to take part in imaginative, community-led activity.
The company’s stakeholders include children and young people, parents and carers, local residents, artists and facilitators, community partners, and small local organisations. Stakeholders were consulted throughout the year using informal and accessible methods appropriate to the scale and nature of the company’s work. Consultation took place through direct conversations with families during Let’s Create sessions, feedback from parents and carers, discussions with artists and facilitators, and ongoing conversations with local community partners. In addition, stakeholders were consulted during the early development of Offbeat Dursley, a new community-led creative event. Local residents, creatives and community groups were engaged through conversations, meetings and informal idea-sharing to help shape the event’s aims, format and activities. Feedback from these consultations directly influenced the company’s decisions and delivery. In response to stakeholder feedback, the company: reinforced an unstructured, child-led approach to Let’s Create sessions made adjustments to improve accessibility and inclusion for families with different needs prioritised free or low-cost participation to remove financial barriers developed Offbeat Dursley as a non-commercial, community-first event, shaped by local ideas and interests included activities such as creative play, skill-sharing workshops and informal social spaces in response to what stakeholders said they wanted This ongoing consultation ensured that the company’s activities were shaped by the people they are intended to benefit and remained responsive to community needs.
